FMN Tape Viewing and Discussion
One of the most
valuable products offered by the IMA is a videotape-training program
introducing and explaining up-to-the-minute accounting and
finance issues. The tapes, produced in conjunction with the
Financial Executives Institute and the Center for Video
Education, are always stimulating, professionally well done, and
full of need-to-know information. Viewing the tape and participating
in the group discussion following provide 4 hours of CPE credit.
Robert Half Management Resources and local IMA
Chapters (Peninsula- Palo Alto and Silicon
Valley) are proud to once again offer Saturday morning
viewing and discussion of a current FMN tape to our membership for
the remarkably low price of only $40.00! We really want to emphasize
that these videotapes are a genuinely interesting way of keeping
current with impacts and changes in Accounting and
Finance.
WHEN: Saturdays. Program begins at 8:45 AM. Refreshments will be
served.
WHERE: RHI / Accountemps Office
ADDRESS: 3600
W. Bayshore Rd, Suite 103, Palo Alto,
CA
EARN: 4 hours CPE Credit. (Late arrivals earn fewer hours).

Technical Sessions
This winter will hold two
technical sessions at Michael’s at Shoreline in
Mountain View. As a key member service, we strive
to offer useful and interesting topics and speakers
that enrich and inform on both a professional and
personal level. 2009 Economic Outlook,
hosted by Dr. Jeannette Garretty, will lead off our
winter program on Feb. 17th. March 17th will be our
Career Night with an employment panel. The
Peninsula-Palo Alto chapter will continue to partner
with the Silicon Valley chapter for many events.
San Jose State University
Student Chapter
The SJSU Student chapter has 18
members. David Hughes, Student Chapter Liaison, is
working on the Internship program with Prof. Carol
Buck. It was successful in 2007-8. We will be
sponsoring an event in the Spring with the SJSU
student.
FMN Tape Review and
Discussion Series
Throughout the fall, we will be
hosting monthly tape viewing and discussion sessions
using the highly acclaimed financial training
program from Financial Management Network (FMN).
The next sessions will be held on the Saturday
mornings of January 10th, January 31st, & March
7th.
Excel Training and
Certification
The Palo Alto & Silicon Valley
chapters are redesigning the program into an Excel
Certificate program. Locations are being sought in
the South Bay. We will have more at our website and
at www.excelmasters.org.
Board Participation
We are looking for three
members to be the V. P of Education, Communication,
and Membership. Board meetings are held one week
before the Tuesday evening technical sessions. As
always, we welcome your ideas and participation in
building a stronger chapter.
