Greetings to chapter members and associates, I would like to share with you information about chapter events and activities for this spring and summer. Technical Sessions We will hold one technical session this spring at Michael’s at Shoreline in Mountain View. As a key member service, we strive to offer useful and interesting topics and speakers that enrich and inform on both a professional and personal level. IMA Ethics Training, titled “Success Without Compromise”, will be the subject of the May 20th technical session. This training course has been designed by the IMA national organization, and a participants guide that includes activities, handouts, learning objectives, definitions, tips and additional resources on ethics. We are in the planning stage for determining the subjects and dates of the technical sessions for late summer and early fall. FMN Tape Review and Discussion Series Throughout the spring and summer, we will continue to host monthly tape viewing and discussion sessions using the highly acclaimed financial training program from Financial Management Network (FMN). The next sessions will be held on the Saturday mornings of April 5th, April 26th, June 7th, July 12th, August 2nd and September 6th. Six Part Excel Training and Certification Our first four sessions were held on the third Saturdays in September, November, January and March. All but one were sold out. This program has been developed in a joint effort with the San Francisco and Silicon Valley chapters, and co-hosted by the Peninsula CPA Chapter. The next sessions will be held on Saturday’s May 17th and July 19th. For more details, visit www.excelmasters.org. Board Participation I would like to congratulate Gregg Rose as the incoming chapter president for the next term starting in June. Please provide Gregg your support as we will continue to provide a wide range of educational and networking events. I also welcome Karen Boyer as the incoming Director of Reservations. As always, we welcome your ideas and participation in building a stronger chapter. Lastly, please note that we have changed our mailing address to 3561 Homestead Rd. #424, Santa Clara, CA 95051. Robert Beasley, IMA-PPA President, 2006-2008
